Meet Linda Black, The Yoga Coach and Her Team Of Yoga Professionals
Combining the analytical mind of a computer scientist with the body and heart centered approach of a yoga professional, Linda Black creates habits of health for her clients. Linda introduces habits of health through many avenues—as a speaker at wellness seminars, showing health fair attendees how a simple yet powerful breathing exercises can help manage stress, or working one-on-one to help clients reduce back pain or relieve stress in specific joints. Her passion is to help others see the beauty in themselves, connect at a deep level with their authentic self, and nurture the soul to each individual’s potential. She offers workshops, yoga classes, retreats and transformation courses throughout the year and offers advice through her monthly newsletter.
Linda has over 20 years of experience teaching in the fitness industry—both as a private trainer and group instructor—focusing over half of this time specifically on yoga for the lasting combination of benefits that stretch both the mind and body. She is a certified Hatha Yoga Instructor through Dana Baptiste’s 200-hour teacher training program. She has a strong background in Anusara with 100 hour Immersion Programs under her belt plus an additional 100 hour Teacher Training both from Anusara certified instructor Adam Ballenger. Linda’s Yoga practice has been influenced by John Friend, Bryan Kest, Ana Forrest, Sianna Mitchell and many other teachers over the years.
In 2003 Linda founded Corporate Yoga, where she, along with other talented and dedicated instructors, brings yoga to employees in the workplace. Corporations along the Wasatch front and into Utah County benefit from the classes offered by Corporate Yoga.
From September 2004 until June of 2011 she enjoyed owning and operating Alpine Yoga (now Lifted Life Yoga Center), a yoga studio in Northern Utah County. While owner/co-owner at Lifted Life Yoga Center, Linda regularly taught teacher training certification programs, wellness retreats, and transformation courses and continues to pursue those programs as a solo-preneur.
The mind body integration of a regular yoga practice comes in handy both while running her business, and raising four amazing children. She enjoys camping, boating, hiking, skiing, and dance, and likes to tutor her kids in Math.
Meet The Team
Growing up in an environment where practicing yoga and meditation was a way of life, Sammy has been studying yoga and eastern philosophy since he was 12 years old. He has studied such schools as Iyengar, Hatha, Kundalini, Ashtanga Vinyasa and Raja Yoga. Recently Sammy spent the past few years traveling to Mysore India where he studied Ashtanga Yoga under R. Sharath Jois the grandson of Sri K. Patabbi Jois and is happy to be part of a direct lineage that is traceable to T. Krishnamacharya, the father of modern yoga, also known as the man who helped bring it out of the caves and make it more accessible to the public. He holds a level 2 authorization to teach Ashtanga (the only person in the state of Utah and one of about 200 others worldwide). He has also studied under other senior teachers such as Tim Miller, and John Friend while continuing an ongoing study with Richard Freeman. Sammy has completed a Yoga Therapy course in northern California at the Ananda Seva Ashram and continues to study Ayurveda, alignment, anatomy and both eastern and western philosophy. Holding two Master’s Degrees in International Relations, Rob is currently pursuing a third, this time in Yoga. After pursuing goals in his chosen career, he realized that the problems of the world are best solved at the local level. He now agrees with a great yogi who said, “The greatest gift of peace I can give to the world is my own inner peace.” Life is full of competition and those who face it with peace and joy are the ones who will be successful. Rob’s yoga classes are accessible yet challenging, feel great, and have the added benefit of providing tools to maximize success in life. His favorite style is Integral Yoga. It draws from several yoga styles promoting continual improvement when practiced consistently. He loves to facilitate and embodies one of yoga’s oldest traditions and that is in looking inward to overcome seen and unseen obstacles. In addition to a Yoga Teacher Certification under Swamini Ma Shakti Devi, he has an advanced training in Yoga Therapy (Ayurvedic Massage and Assisted Stretching) and a Corporate Yoga Teacher Certification. His spiritual name is Hanuman Deva. Find out more about Rob at his website:www.HanumanDeva.com.
I was born and raised in Germany and I have been in the United States for a little over 10 years. My husband and I have been happily married for almost 11 years and have two little boys at home. I love being a stay at home mom and at the same time being able to have my dream job as a fitness professional. Fitness has always been a passion of mine and I love helping people stay fit and healthy and reaching their own fitness goals. When I first came to the US I struggled maintaining my previously healthy lifestyle and for a few years I struggled with my weight which ultimately led to me wanting to become a personal trainer.
I have been teaching group fitness classes just over three years and I have so much fun with the members every time I teach a class. I believe that exercise not only helps people sustain a healthy weight but also helps improve so many other aspects oflife such as mood, stress reduction and disease prevention.Exercising daily has made such a difference in my own life that I want to share those benefits with anyone I come into contact with.Besides teaching group fitness and training with clients I really enjoy playing with my crazy little boys and playing piano.
After receiving a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah in 2003, Stacy understood that her spirituality was deeply rooted in both movement and nature. In 2007 Stacy completed her Yoga teaching certification with Dana Baptiste in Salt Lake City, Utah and began developing Earthflow Yoga. Earthflow Yoga is a culmination of Stacy’s life experience. Her classes offer a unique blend of physicality, flow and introspection inspired by the systems and cycles of the Earth.
“My classes cater to athletes and those who resonate with the natural world. I teach Vinyasa Yoga, a style of Yoga that focuses on linking poses together through the wave and rhythm of the breath. Each class focuses on injury prevention and recovery, specifically addressing proper alignment and support of the knees, lower back and shoulders. As a skier, climber, runner and dancer, I understand the demands these activities take on the body and understand how crucial a yoga practice is to longevity and health in these endeavors.
Transformed by yoga, Stacy became a teacher to help others experience the benefits of it’s amazing practice. To help students achieve deeper states of relaxation and meditation Stacy utilizes her training in hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Her skills and passion for health and wellness reach into multiple modalities including nutrition, physiology, and travels to India to gain a philosophical perspective of yoga. I moved from Riverside California here to Utah and have been here for about 10 years. I really started getting into fitness once my son was born 8 years ago. I wanted to get into shape so I started jogging every day. I started to see real change when I started adding some resistance training and toning to my cardio workouts. I took my first group fitness weight and toning class 3 years ago and have loved attending these classes since then. I am a Les Mills Certified Body Pump Instructor and enjoy teaching group fitness and helping others reach their fitness goals.
